All-you-can-eat Breakfast Buffet
Our all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet has been expanded by more breads and rolls. A wider selection of cheeses and meats has also been added to the current selection. Ethnic and religious preferences receive special attention in the preparation of food and its content.
Evening Dining
We have introduced more flexible dining hours for our groups. Organically grown ingredients have been added to the dished offered. The selection has been expanded by dishes like Italian appetizers and salads, as well as main courses such as chicken breast or vegetable curry. In addition, the cold buffet also has various breads, cheeses and meats. Ethnic and religious wishes are also observed when preparing meals for evening dining.
Free Luggage Transfer (Exception London)
In order to make the arrival and departure of our groups as comfortable as possible, we take care of transferring luggage from and to the train station. We can also arrange luggage transfer to and from the airport upon request.
Rooms
All of our rooms come with cable TV. Televisions can be blocked upon request as well as unblocked by teachers or other supervisors upon request.
Recreational Rooms
In addition to billiards, table football (foosball) and PlayStation, we also offer karaoke and DVDs and videos on a giant screen. Comfortable seats, drinks, snacks and music all come together to provide the comfortable atmosphere.
Program
MEININGER sponsors Yacademy - a non-profit association that advances intercultural exchange and migration and that stands for tolerance. A joint program is currently in development. Visits to synagogues or mosques, for example, are meant to initiate dialogue between cultures and religions.
Security
Security needs are an important and deciding criterion for teachers in choosing accommodation for a class trip. All of our rooms are equipped with a programmable keycard system. Flexible access rights to student rooms improve monitoring capabilities. Having cameras in foyers and night clerks during the high season assist in supervising responsibilities. Different colored armbands control the sale of alcoholic beverages in MEININGER bars.
Environment
The hotel industry has a responsibility to contribute in protecting the environment and reducing ecological effects as much as possible. MEININGER City Hostels & Hotels considers responsible interaction with the environment to be a duty. Our external launderers use only tenside detergents that biodegrade quickly.
Location
Our hostel in Cologne is just as centrally located as all of our other hostels. Cologne's city highlights, such as the Dom (Cathedral), the historical center or the Schildergasse shopping mile are all in the direct vicinity. Further sights can be easily reached either on foot or in just a few minutes by public transport.

Phase 1
Informational phase and putting together an offer:
Contact us via telephone at +49 (0) 30-666 36-0, via email at welcome@meininger-hostels.com, via contact form or via fax at +49 (0) 30-666 36-222 for information regarding destinations, for questions concerning programme design, the hostels and their availability.
You also make sure that the offer meets the wishes of you and your third parties (students, local education authority, parents, etc.).
Phase 2
Holding the Reservation:
After making sure that the offer meets to your wishes, you put a hold on the reservation (i.e. temporarily booked, generally for two weeks). If you do not book, then the reservation will be terminated without penalty.
During this time frame you can inform the group about the destination (download a PowerPoint presentation), the hostel, potential programme highlights, house rules and regulations, the bonus programme and the terms and conditions for booking and paying.

Phase 3
Trip Confirmation:
After confirming the reservation, you will receive confirmation from us, as well as a name list to be filled out and a meal plan. The total sum and time of payment will be stated in the contract. You collect the deposit and transfer it to the hostel.

Phase 4
Programme Design:
We will support you in planning your city programme. Our team, in collaboration with Yacademy e.V., will be happy to present you with a programme that is tailored to your budget and wishes, with no obligation. Apart from relevant tourist programme points, the programmes include intercultural topics and events for strengthening group companionship. Here you will find some proposals.
Furthermore, you as a teacher have the opportunity to book a room for a weekend at discount prices. We are happy to take your questions, without any obligation on your part [contact].
Phase 5
Arrival:
Arrival at the corresponding destination. If "luggage pickup service" [book here] has been requested, then we will be waiting at the train station with our bus. Then you can decide whether you want to head into the city or come directly to the hostel.
Phase 6
Stay:
We hope that your visit meets your wishes. Should you be unsatisfied or should there be any problems, our staff are available 24h a day at their corresponding phone numbers.

You can also book a qualified staff member to assist you in supervising your students during the night hours so that you can start the next day refreshed. This service is available for a cost covering 25eur for the first 3 hours (at least 2 weeks prior to arrival); each additional hour costs 8 euro.
Phase 7
Departure:
On the day of departure, guests must be checked out by 10 am. You can store all of the group's luggage in the luggage room to be picked up later, or we can bring you your luggage to the train station for free if you have booked the "luggage transfer."
Phase 8
Collect bonus points:
You can collect your bonus points at or after departure. After collecting a certain number of points, you can turn them in for services either immediately or later for your next class trip. For more information please click [here].
