NIGHTLIFE

The city of Berlin is BIG. Each of its 12 districts have their own charm at day as well as at night.

Berlin's nightlife is legendary, colorful and diverse. After Germany's reunification, a plethora of new clubs popped up in the former east that bordered on legality. Now, there are over 200 venues that add to the creative music scene and attract not only clubbers from all parts of the world, but new artists and musicians again and again as well. They all bring a part of their character into the city's nightlife, catering to an innovative symbiosis of regional trends.

The best way to find out about current events is by checking with the popular city magazines Zitty or Tip.

But it's not just the club scene that is legendary - the bars are in no way inferior. As soon as the sun starts to shine and the nights become warmer, the Berliners head out into the OPEN where they party, drink and chat into the early morning hours. Very popular places include, for example:

The areas around Simon-Dach-Strasse in Friedrichshain, Hackischer Markt in Mitte, Bergmannstrasse in Kreuzberg or Eberswalderstrasse in Prenzlauer Berg.
